Each lifecycle stage is tagged to functions in the SIS, finance, HR and research models. This swimlane lays the stages across the top and the applications that deliver them down the side, so you can see who does the work at each step, where the system of record changes hands, and where a stage depends on workarounds or has no application at all.
Sample data: applications and coverage come from the fictional Example State University ecosystems. The stage-to-function tagging is this site’s own judgement.
Each cell counts the stage’s features an application touches; the square shows its best coverage and strongest role there. Record holder is the application that is system of record for the most features at that stage; a handoff marks where that changes, which is where integrations and data quality problems usually sit. Click a stage, a cell or an application for detail.
